Okey Unadike

Okey-UnadikeOkey Unadike is the new pastor for our Dingle Mount Church. He was born into a Christian home with a family of four brothers and one sister. Okey studied Civil Engineering at University and it was during this time, recalls Okey that “a friend invited me to church and the preacher spoke with such power and conviction that my spirit was convicted of sin and I went forward and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour”.

After his university education Okey sensed a call to full time Christian ministry. He started pastoral work with a church in Nigeria for 4 years.
Between 2005 and 2008 he studied at the London School of Theology where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. During his study, he has done practical placements with the Church of England Balham and New Park Road Baptist Church.
Okey has also worked for a short time as a City Missioner with London City Mission in North London and Greenwich. He says “My desire is to see souls saved and to preach/teach the Gospel passionately as well as discipling converts into full mature Christians”
His hobbies are swimming, reading, football (Arsenal fan), and working with creative computer software.
He is married to Nikky.

DingleThe dedication stone was laid on 15th January 1974 and the opening service held on Saturday 26th April 1975. The church was declared open by the then President, Mr A.E Proffitt, and the address was given by the Superintendent, Mr David Jebson from Judges chapter 4 verse 14.
Mr Thomas Kemp was the Pastor at the time and he retired in 1976. Peter McGrath was Pastor from 1976 to 1978, followed by Hugh Smith from 1981 to 1986. He was then followed by Jim Campbell who was Pastor from 1987 to 1991. We then had a gap of 8 years without a Pastor until Bob Bogart joined us in 1999. He was with us until 2005,followed by Paul Holloway from 2005 to 2007.
At our anniversary service, we were able to display articles and memorabilia, covering the churches 35 year history.
