Why does LCM have Churches?

You might well wonder why does LCM have churches?

We’re not a denomination. We don’t want to be one. So why?

Liverpool City Mission (LCM) has always sought to reach the least reached people of Liverpool for Christ. Very often, that’s meant the people in our communities with the deepest physical or spiritual needs.

City mission people would establish social care works around the city. It was common for such a ‘mission’ place to be very much a hub of a local community. Over time, some missions became established Mission Halls and, in many cases, established churches.

LCM then operated as leadership support and administrative help to these local churches. Some have closed long ago, others are now independently thriving, while others have chosen to remain part of LCM.
